Ayumi Privacy Policy

Version: October 2026

Ayumi is operated by Gloop Media LLC ("Gloop Media," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share information when you use Ayumi's website, messaging service, and related features.

Ayumi helps students explore opportunities after high school, including colleges, career training, apprenticeships, employment pathways, and other options.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Depending on how you use Ayumi, we may collect:

  • Your name, mobile phone number, age eligibility confirmation, and expected graduation year.
  • Your approximate home location, such as ZIP code, city, and state.
  • Educational information, including grades, GPA, standardized test scores, and academic interests when relevant.
  • Career interests, goals, preferences, financial considerations, and geographic constraints.
  • Messages you exchange with Ayumi, including questions, answers, corrections, and feedback about opportunities.
  • Your preferences regarding opportunities you wish to explore.

Please do not provide Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, medical records, immigration documents, or other highly sensitive personal information unless we specifically explain why the information is necessary and provide an appropriate secure collection method.

Information collected through use

We may collect technical and operational information needed to maintain and secure the service, including message delivery records, account activity, device and browser information, and diagnostic information.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and maintain your personalized student profile.
  • Understand your educational and career interests, circumstances, and preferences.
  • Identify and explain potentially relevant postsecondary opportunities.
  • Remember your previous conversations and feedback.
  • Send and receive messages you have authorized.
  • Maintain service reliability, security, and appropriate administrative oversight.
  • Evaluate and improve Ayumi's performance and recommendation quality.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Ayumi uses artificial intelligence to support conversations and recommendations. Automated systems may analyze information you provide to create your profile, identify relevant opportunities, and generate responses.

Ayumi also uses deterministic rules and human review to govern recommendations and certain consequential actions.

3. Sharing Information

We do not sell students' personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

We may disclose information to service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including cloud hosting, database operations, AI processing, communications delivery, security, and technical support. These providers receive information needed to provide their services.

Our service providers may include Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel, and Twilio.

We do not share your identifiable student profile with colleges, training providers, employers, or other opportunity providers without your authorization.

If Ayumi introduces features that allow students to contact providers, submit information, request offers, or take other consequential actions, we will explain what information would be shared and seek the appropriate authorization before sharing it.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users, or in connection with a lawful business transaction, subject to applicable privacy protections.

4. Text Messaging Privacy

If you opt in to Ayumi's SMS service, we use your mobile number to provide conversations, guidance, recommendations, and service-related communications.

Message frequency varies depending on your interactions. Message and data rates may apply.

You may reply STOP to stop receiving SMS messages or HELP for assistance.

We do not sell, rent, transfer, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information and consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Messaging service providers may process this information solely to deliver and support communications on our behalf.

Consent to receive Ayumi messages does not authorize messages from other products or services operated by Gloop Media LLC.

SMS messages are transmitted through telecommunications networks and may not provide the same privacy protections as encrypted messaging services. Avoid sharing highly sensitive information through text.

5. Student Privacy and Age Eligibility

Ayumi is intended for individuals age 13 and older.

We do not knowingly provide accounts to children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take appropriate steps to remove the information and restrict access, subject to applicable legal requirements.

We recognize that many Ayumi users are minors and seek to limit personal information collection to what is reasonably necessary to deliver the service.

Additional information is available in our Age Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Ayumi, maintain appropriate records, protect the service, and satisfy legal obligations.

During our beta we do not yet have automated deletion schedules. We delete or de-identify information when you ask us to (see Section 7) or when we determine it is no longer needed, in accordance with applicable law. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or records maintained for security or legal purposes.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us (Section 10), subject to applicable law and necessary identity verification. We handle these requests individually.

You may correct information Ayumi has recorded about your goals or preferences through the service.

You may withdraw SMS consent at any time by replying STOP. Stopping text messages does not, by itself, delete your Ayumi account or conversation history.

Depending on your jurisdiction, additional privacy rights may apply.

8. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

However, no system or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Ayumi develops. Material changes will be communicated through the website or another appropriate method, and additional consent will be requested where required.
